Vicki's 'BIG OP!'

Hello everyone! It's one week since I came out of hospital. Trust me to go in on the hottest day of the year!

My operation (for those medically inclined) consisted of removal of very swollen labrum cartilage including a 2cm tear, 2.5 x 1cm of the acetabulum debrided and reshaped with micro-fractures bored into the bone to stimulate cartilage growth.

How's that!

I now find myself non-weight bearing for 6 weeks. (Oh, yes .. the Teres ligament was badly ruptured so he removed it. Apparently it only only serves as a blood supply from ball to socket whilst the bones are growing - they guessed that I'd stopped growing some centuries ago). See pretty pictures below ....

Life has been such a new learning curve ... the biggest being learning to do nothing. I managed quite alot in the first few days but it soon took it's toll .....
